Mmmm my face smells good!
Gotta love technology, bringing you such modern marvels… as scented eyewear. That’s right, scratch n’ sniff stickers are so passé. Scented nail polish? So last season. The latest craze in (unnecessary) fragrance technology comes from French company, Les Opticiens Atol and its recent collaboration with actress/model Adriana Karembeu, the AK Senteurs scented glass frame collection.
The sharp rectangular styles are admittedly chic and are offered in four scents:
Coquette- a youthful floral
Isle of Kisses (rough translation)- a fruity mango concoction
Adriana- a sweet and spicy oriental
Chocolate – (obviously), a sweet gourmand
Sure the concept is cute and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see more and more status symbols embedded with fragrance popping up in the near future… but one has to wonder about the safety of scent emitting plastics on one’s face! Right next to the eyes no less. I’m probably just an alarmist, but I’m sticking with my plain old unscented nerd frames thank you very much! (Bella Sugar)
